Wonderful news to share!

We became grandparents today for the fifth time! Our daughter gave birth to a baby boy this morning weighing in at 9 lbs. 11 ozs! Mother and baby are doing well. Can't wait to see them in a couple of days.

And I have a card to post I finished last evening and just getting around to putting it on my blog (more important things happened today;) This big, beautiful pansy stamp is a vintage Penny Black. Wish I could do this stamp more justice by coloring better! The dp is Basic Grey's Wisteria. I highlighted the center of the flower with a Copic Spica pen in Lemon but the camera just doesn't want to pick up the glitter! I made two flowers and cut one apart, petal by petal, curled and popped on top of the original flower. I also used the new Stampin' Up border punch.

I won't be posting any new cards for a week or so since I will be spending time with my grandkids but here's hoping all of you have a wonderful Easter with your families.

Happy Spring!

This card is a bit over the top for me but it is fitting for the unusually warm March we're having. I'm a huge fan of Basic Grey paper and this paper is their Origins line.

I added Flower Soft to the stems and glitter to the dragonfly's wings.

Instead of ribbon, I used a new stamp from Flourishes called Lace Edges and added pearls. Here is a list of the supplies:

Paper: Bazzill, TAC, Basic Grey Origins
Stamps: Great Impressions, Hero Arts, Flourishes - Lace Edges
Inks: Marvy Green, Versamark Watermark, Distress ink-Peeled Paint
Embellishments: Pearls-Recollections, Spring Flower Soft, Glitter, Celedon EP
Tools: Glue Pen, Classic Ovals and Labels 10 from Spellbinder's Nestabilities

Happy Spring! Jane

Scripted Bird

I LOVE Memory Box stamps and CAS'd this card from a class that Heidi recently had at the Stamp Shoppe. I colored the berries and the faux stitching with Spica's Garnet pen. The card is fairly simple and explanatory so here are the ingredients:
Embellishments: Pearls from Recollections, Prima flowers and Mrs. Grossman's Ribbon.
Ink: Memento Sweet Plum
Stamp: Memory Box's scripted Bird
Paper: Bazzill, TAC, Shimmer and Diane's Daughters Amethyst Large Flower
Tools: Spellbinders' Labels Five

Glazed Glitter Technique

I picked up the technique from Jen Del Muro's blog. This birthday card is for my grandson, Qwinten, who will turn 4 next month. We call him "Q" so couldn't resist this technique for the front of his card using a large alphabet chipboard. The chipboard piece is covered with glue, then glittered. I covered the entire letter with Diamond Glaze and let dry overnight. The paper is Little Boy paper from Cloud 9 as is the coordinating ribbon and rub-ons.

I can't wait to try this technique on other chipboard shapes or die cuts from sturdy cardstock.

Another challenge card

I created another card for our stamp club using the supplies given to us. I used Spellbinder's tree die and cut four trees from the beautiful ribbed green paper (if I had more paper, I would have cut five to make the tree fuller). I sprayed forest green Glimmer Mist on the tree but the effect is very difficult to pick up on camera. I also used Labels Eight and the Ribbon Trio Tag dies. Hope you had a good weekend.

Greetings from Wonderland

In celebration of the release of the movie "Alice in Wonderland", here's my sketch challenge for our stamp club. I loved reading "Alice" as a young girl so am pleased to see all the new "Alice" stamp sets available. We were to use the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #41. The sketch had several buttons in the corners and I tried to stay as close as possible to the sketch but I used some blingy hearts instead. The black cardstock is Gina K's Pure Luxury. The red cardstock is from Treasures and embossed with the queen of hearts embossing folder from the new Romance series from Cuttlebug and edged in Brilliance gold ink. I used some of my cherished, hoarded dp which is Bo Bunny's Beau Jardin Poppy and backed it with gold metallic cardstock. The queen of hearts stamp is from Crafty Secrets "Greetings from Wonderland" set along with the sentiment. I've had the blingy hearts in my stash forever. In my second photo, I show the designer paper and the stamp set. Now, off to wonderland.....

Stamp Club Challenge

I decided to go masculine with the paper provided for our stamp club challenge. My husband is a fisherman and thought this card would be appropriate for his birthday next month. Not sure who manufactures the designer paper but the cardstock is brown bag cover paper from Marcos Paper and the cream cardstock is from TAC (The Angel Company). The card measures 8-1/2 x 3-3/4. The main image is from Stamp Rosa and stamped in Memento tuxedo black, colored with copics and sponged with Distress ink Vintage Photo. The sentiment is from TAC, stamped in Memento rich cocoa, die cut with Spellbinder's Nestabilities Label One and sponged with Distress ink. The fun part of this card is the envelope! It is made from elephant poo! Copy/paste and check it out! Too fun!

We had a new backsplash installed in our kitchen over the weekend; hence, no stamping was accomplished. Well, I did start something but not ready to share. Maybe later today. And the new storage building is my husband's project just completed last week. Some stain when the weather warms along with landscaping and it's done! I'm lovin' the new look in my kitchen! Have a good week!
